The fire sprinkler installation process
Supplied and installed at properties across Marlow, our commercial fire sprinkler systems are all designed to comply with BS 9251.
Following the completion of the design process, the first fix stage will be carried out at a similar time to when the plumbers and electricians are on site.
The vast majority of commercial fire sprinkler systems will consist of CPVC pipework, which is securely and professionally joined together with fittings and solvent weld cement.
The pipework is installed in the ceiling void, which should be a minimum of 150mm and is fixed with approved hangers.
To avoid any movement in the event of an activation, additional bracing will be installed close to the sprinkler heads.
The sprinkler heads are left with protective covers attached and the ceilings and flooring can then be closed up. The commercial sprinkler system will either be operated by a mains fed water supply or by a storage tank and pump; this connection will be carried out at completion and commissioning stage.
Also at commissioning stage, the sprinkler heads are fitted with unobtrusive white cover plates which finish flush with the ceiling and similar in diameter to down lights, different colours are available to fit in with the appearance of your room.
