The fire sprinkler installation process
Each commercial fire sprinkler system we supply and install is designed to comply with BS 9251.
After the design process has been completed, the first fix stage will be carried out at a similar time to when the electricians and plumbers are on site.
The majority of our commercial fire sprinkler systems will consist of CPVC pipework, which is securely and professionally joined together with fittings and solvent weld cement.
The pipework will be installed in the ceiling void, which should be a minimum of 150mm and then fixed with approved hangers.
In the event of the fire sprinkler being activated, additional bracing is installed close to the sprinkler heads to avoid any movement.
The heads will be left with protective covers attached, meaning the ceilings and flooring can then be closed up.
The commercial sprinkler system will either be operated by a mains fed water supply or a pump and storage tank; the mains fed water supply connection will be carried out during the completion and commissioning stage.
Similarly, the sprinkler heads will be fitted with unobtrusive white cover plates during the commissioning stage. These will finish flush with the ceiling and are similar in diameter to down lights. Different colours are also available to fit in which the appearance of your room too.
